Kundapur, Mar 6: Police here said on March 5 that postmortem and medical tests have confirmed that Gulabi from Hemmady Haregodu, who died on March 1, was murdered.
The report states that she was killed by strangulation and asphyxiation. Police have registered a case of murder.
Gulabi was staying alone after the death of her husband. Local people had expressed suspicions that it was a murder as the ornaments worn by her were missing. There are suspicions that she was killed by those who knew her routine. The postmortem report was received by the police on Monday night.
Police are questioning suspected people. No arrests have been made yet.
Kundapur DySP B P Dinesh Kumar said that investigations are being held from all the angles.
