Jana Sena announces candidates for 2 LS seats in Andhra


Amaravati, Mar 11 (IANS); The Jana Sena on Monday announced candidates for two Lok Sabha constituencies in Andhra Pradesh.

Party president and well-known actor Pawan Kalyan announced the candidates for Amalapuram and Rajahmundry constituencies.

D.M.R Sekhar will be the candidate from Amalapuram while Akula Satyanarayana will contest from Rajahmundry.

Pawan earlier tweeted that the party has finalised 32 candidates for the Assembly and nine candidates for the Lok Sabha polls. "After a diligent process, the general body of our party has finalised the first list of candidates for 32 Assembly and 9 Parliamentary constituencies," he tweeted.

The party said the candidates for 32 Assembly seats and 7 Lok Sabha seats will be announced on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Pawan has already announced that his party will contest the elections in alliance with the Left parties. The leaders of the Left parties on Monday met the Jana Sena leader and discussed seat adjustments.

The Communist Party of India (CPI) and the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) are reportedly seeking 26 Assembly and four Lok Sabha seats.

Simultaneous elections to the 175-member Andhra Pradesh Assembly and all 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state are scheduled in a single phase on April 11.
