Hindu man eats beef mislabelled lamb, asks supermarket to fund shuddhikaran trip to India

New Delhi, Mar 12(IT): A Hindu man in New Zealand is fighting a David vs Goliath battle against a local supermarket after he ended up eating beef because of a mistake made by the store. Jaswinder Paul, the Indian-origin man who moved to New Zealand two decades ago, has a simple request: That the supermarket fork up round-trip airfare to India so that he can come and "purify" his damaged soul.

Jaswinder Paul says Hinduism mandates that he now come back home and "do sacred things for four to six weeks, and be purified by priests". "It's a long process," Paul told Stuff.co.nz, a local news website.

Paul's fight with the supermarket dates back to September last year when he bought a package of "roast lamb". According to Stuff.co.nz, Paul, who runs a barbershop, cooked the meat and ate it before realising it was actually beef and not lamb, that the label on it claimed.

And ever since, Paul said, his family has refused to talk to him.

Paul realised that he must cleanse his soul in order to "continue on [his] religious path". And so, Paul approached the supermarket -- Countdown in New Zealand's Blenheim town -- and asked them to fund his 'yatra' back home.

The supermarket apologised, put the error down to "mislabelling" and offered Paul a gift voucher, according to spokesperson for the supermarket who spoke to Stuff.co.nz.

But Paul refused, hopeful the supermarket would come to its senses and pay up the money needed for a cleansing trip back home. However, the supermarket did no such thing.

And now, according to Stuff.co.nz, Paul is considering knocking on a court's door, even though he does not want to. "I don't want to go to court against a big corporation. I just want to go home," Paul said, adding that it may look like a "simple matter" but for him it is "very hard".

"I know my society back from my home will not accept me with this breach of the religion's conditions."

such people are spoiling our indians name internationally.
first we need to check whether he have any mental issue. later if he want to do shuddhikaran, and he think it's most important for him, then let him spent his own money instead begging with supermarket.
or else the last option is can tweet modi or sushmaji, so that immediately they can carry cow urine directly by airindia express and do his shuddhikaran.

    Few things here...

First the White Cow in the picture looks like our Bolli Cow...She was my childhood Sweetheart...I used to spend more time with her than my peers...

No coming back to 'Shuddhikaran' ...he can import 'Gangajal' from India and wash himself along with his tongue...Since he ate it unknowingly...God for sure will forgive him if he repent...

Cynthi , like some Kuwaiti's spend Valentines day with their Camels...I plan to spend next Valentines day with my Childhood sweetheart Bolli ???...

    ...Tak...Takk...

In abundant precaution, he shouldn't have been eating any meat like catle do and shouldn't be shaking hands of meat eaters!
See people mix with each other so easily, in such cases, so meat mixing can also take place.
Where all meat eaters so bothered?

No where in Bhagavath Geeta it is mentioned for Hindus not to eat Indian beef in india or abroad or foriegn beef. Our Hindu nationalistic govt prohibits eating Indian beef in India in its own Hinduism, so New Zealand beef in New Zealand is completely sinless or guiltless that is why our BJP govt slaughters cows in India and exports its meat, so people can go anywhere uninvited to eat beef. Anyway, in this case the sin is not on you. You can do Shuddikaran in New Zealand also anyway after 2014 everything is fake.

Why is he living in a country that cheated his belief ? Is it that he can't afford a ticket home & back, or does he think a country that has meat at one if its highest exports will care a dime for his reverence to bovine meat ? Shouldn't he grow his own lamb and eat instead ?

In that case, what all those Hindus in India who consume meat should do ?

Do you have knowledge of difference between a born citizen of a country and the one who sought citizenship out of migratory law ?

Have you heard how Pakistani Hindus granted citizenship in India are living as secondary citizens ? Please do some research, I don't expect you to believe if I write whatever I heard about it.
