Modi urges Rahul, others to motivate voters

New Delhi, Mar 13 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday urged Congress President Rahul Gandhi and other politicians, sportspersons, actors, business leaders to encourage maximum voter engagement in 2019 general elections in April-May.

"I appeal to Rahul Gandhi, (West Bengal Chief Minister) Mamata (Banerjee), (NCP chief) Sharad Pawar, (BSP supremo) Mayawati, (SP chief) Akhilesh Yadav, (RJD leader) Tejashwi Yadav and (DMK chief) M.K. Stalin to encourage increased voter participation in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. A high turnout augurs well for our democratic fabric," he tweeted.

He also mentioned sportspersons P.V. Sindhu, Saina Nehwal, S..Kidambi; actors Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, business leaders Ratan Tata, Anand Mahindra to encourage more voting in polls.

    Shanker. In January I drove from Bangalore to Mangalore, but did not found any new publick clean toilets! Last year we travelled Delhi-Agra-Jaipur. Not found any clean Public toilets built.
    Last year my part time housemaid of BPL family in Bangalore apprached a few Gas agencies who refused free connection & hence I got a connection for that girl paying for the connection as well as for Gas stove.
    We got in our village electricity connection & land line connection in the year 1965
    Please list for us how many free houses given to the poor in Mangalore!

    Whatever you have said it has come from the tax money that many Indians like me pay everyday and it is not even 1% of that amount. It does not come from Modi's or Amit's or Jaitley's nor even Rahul's pockets

    Probably, you don't pay any taxes, so you don't know the value of the tax coffers.

    The tax treasury is probably accrued with around 125 crore rupees every five minutes based on very modest estimates; you wouldn't know how.
