Two held for trying to rob cab driver in Gurugram


Gurugram, March 17 (IANS): The crime branch of Gurugram police has arrested two on the charge of attempting to rob a cab driver, the police said.

The accused, Anand and Sandeep, had booked a cab using a mobile app from Pataudi on November 8, 2018. When they came out of town area, the accused on rear seat, tried to gag the driver with a rope, said Shamsher Singh, ACP crime, Gurugram police.

"However, the driver fought back, stopped the car and raised an alarm," Singh said. As the locals responded to the alarm and rushed, the accused flee the spot, the ACP said.

The cab driver registered an FIR at the Pataudi police station and gave descriptions of accused.

"Acting on a tip-off, the crime branch has arrested the accused from DP Dhaba located on NG 8 near Maneser on Saturday evening," Singh said.
