Heavy firing on LoC in Rajouri district


Jammu, Mar 18 (IANS): Heavy firing was reported between Indian and Pakistani soldiers along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on Sunday.

Defence Ministry spokesperson Lt Colonel Devender Anand said: "The Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation at about 6.30 p.m. on Sunday by heavy mortar shelling and firing of small arms along the LoC in Sunderbani sector of the Rajouri district. Indian troops are effectively retaliating."

Reports reaching here said that firing exchanges were continuing in the area.
