Mangaluru: Farewell programme for Std 7 students held at SAC Higher Primary School

Mangaluru, Mar 22: A heart touching farewell programme was organized at St Aloysius College Higher Primary School, Kodialbail for the students of Std 7 on March 20. After having spent seven long years in the portals of this institution, the students are all set to step into another phase of their lives. As many as 154 students of Std 7 along with their parents were warmly welcomed by the teachers.

The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.

To thank God for all His wondrous gifts and blessings, a meaningful prayer service was conducted by the teachers.

Philomena Lewis, the headmistress welcomed the gathering.



On behalf of all the outgoing students, Vikshitha, Grashal Fernandes and Dillan D’Souza placed before the audience their seven-year journey through St Aloysius Primary School and also expressed their deep sense of gratitude to their Alma Mater and all who have been their pillars of support.

A befitting farewell song was sung by the juniors.

As the headmistress led, the students of std 7 pledged to uphold the motto, ‘It shines and it enkindles’, to strive to build up the nation, to enrich the whole human family and for the greater Glory of God.

The outgoing students were handed over a beautiful memento each by the Rector Rev Fr Dionysius Vas SJ with the quote, ‘Go confidently in the direction of your dreams’.

As Rev Fr Rector addressed the gathering, he said “Dream big and work at your dreams.” Aim higher and higher, become matured and more responsible. Not to get addicted to any unwanted Gadgets, but to keep up the dreams and to discover the skills. He requested the parents that the children need a close watch till the age of 18 to focus on their lives. He stressed on family values which have become the need of the hour. He thanked the parents for keeping their trust in the institution. He then mentioned about the opportunities, the institutions provided, making a special mention of the Civil Service courses open in our college. He appreciated the loving, caring, dedicated teachers for their hard work in moulding the students.

The juniors of the school staged a graceful dance and entertained all.

Padmanabha Rao rendered the vote of thanks for the success of the programme.

To conclude the programme, the students sang the school anthem with fervour in their hearts.

Rector of St Aloysius College Institution, Fr Dionysius Vas, correspondent Fr Gerald Furtado, headmistress Philomena Lewis , and vice president of the PTA Rekha Fernandes were the dignitaries present for the occasion.
