Minister among 6 killed in Somalia suicide attack


Mogadishu, Mar 23 (IANS): As many as six people were killed, including a minister, and 11 others injured in a suicide attack in Somalia capital Mogadishu on Saturday, police said.

The suicide car bomb attack was targeted at the Ministry of Labor and Public works building, Xinhua quoted police officer Mohamed Abdulle as saying.

Saqar Ibrahim Abdalla, member of Parliament and Deputy Minister for Labour and Social Affairs, was among killed in the terror attack, said lawmaker Mohamed Omar Dalha.

According to witnesses, the explosions were followed by gunfires.

Militant group Al-Shabab has claimed the responsibility for the bombings.
