Priyanka Gandhi to visit Ayodhya on Wednesday


Lucknow, Mar 26 (IANS): Congress General Secretary in-charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh, Priyanka Gandhi would be visiting the temple town of Ayodhya on Wednesday, a party leader said.

Gandhi will take the Kaifiyat Express from New Delhi on Tuesday to reach Ayodhya on Wednesday morning.

She will go to the famous Hanumangarhi temple at 10 a.m., followed by a brief visit to the Birla temple. She will then lead a road show from Tedhi Bazaar, through the Ranapoli-Avadhpuri colony, Beniganj, Sahabganj police station, Sahabganj Ram Janki temple, to Reedganj where she will address a 'nukkad Sabha' organised by a eunuch supporter.

She will later go to Top Waali Kothi, Chowk, Subhash Nagar and Fatehganj.

An advance team of the Special Protection Group (SPG) has already reached the temple town where it is coordinating her visit with the local authorities and police.

Gandhi is also scheduled to address some more roadside public gatherings after which she will head on Wednesday evening, by road, to Amethi, the parliamentary constituency of her brother and Congress President Rahul Gandhi, who is facing a tough fight from his BJP rival, Union Minister Smriti Irani.
