Mangaluru: 12th edition of ‘Sentia’ inaugurated at MITE

Mangaluru, Mar 27: The 12th edition of the Annual State level Intercollegiate Cultural, Technical and Management Fest of Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE)- Sentia 2019 was inaugurated on Wednesday, March 27 at MITE Campus in the midst of gala of participants from across students of Engineering and MBA Colleges of Karnataka.

The four-day fest was inaugurated by Brijesh S, chief people officer, Torry Harris Busines Solutions, Bengaluru. In his inaugural address, Brijesh addressed the students on importance of Inner belief, which will make a difference to one’s identity. He mentioned that its how we adapt to today’s changing technological world will lead us to success. “The ecosystem has to be changed towards adapting to latest technologies. In addition to this, any Professional can grow in career only with right technical abilities and professional skills. The current generation is very ambitious, one has to look beyond their set goal and be a strong leader,” he said.

Rajesh Chouta, chairman, Rajalaxmi Education Trust, in his presidential address said, “Sentia has become a religion, passion for MITE. Sentia today has spread all across the state, and we at MITE will conduct the activities with complete transparency and utmost hospitality to the participants.”

Prof G R Rai, Advisor, MITE advised the students to enjoy the fest and also participate with spirit of competitiveness.

This edition is witnessing talents across Karnataka participate in a total of 68 events been conducted simultaneously in 10 different venues in the span of two days. More than 1,700 students from 45 engineering and management institutes across Karnataka are participating in the event. The gala two-day event will be concluded on the evening of March 28 with the one of its kind Sentia Award Nite, with popular playback singer Mika Singh giving a live performance in the Musical Live show. The total prize money is about Rs 10 lac.

Dr G L Easwara Prasad, principal, MITE welcomed the gathering. Dr Asha Crasta, coordinator, Ssentia, rendered the vote of thanks. Achal Poonja was the compere.
