2 J&K doctors suspended for model code violation


Srinagar, Mar 28 (IANS): Two senior doctors were suspended on Thursday for violating the model code of conduct in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district, officials said.

After receiving complaints about the presence of Chief Medical Officer Bilquees Mir and Block Medical Officer Syed Rehman in a workers' meeting of National Conference candidate for Baramulla Lok Sabha seat, Muhammad Akbar Lone, District Election Officer (DEO) of Bandipora, Shahbaz Mirza, suspended both the doctors.

Photographs and video clips were received through Chief Electoral Officer Shailendra Kumar for inquiry and action against the doctors for their alleged political activities and misconduct under service rules, the DEO order said.
