Mississauga: 'Cathrina' Henry' to 'Storm' Canada on Apr 19

Mississauga, Mar 4: Henry D’Souza, an evergreen maestro of Konkani music world, a composer par excellence and a virtuoso singer is all ready to set his foot in Canada for the first time ever.

After performing more than 200 nites in Bombay, Mangalore and Gulf countries, he will perform in Kala Saanz, a platform to showcase the talents and a cultural show organized by Canara World Foundation Inc and sponsored by Max Mendes Group, Canada.

Canara Kala Saanz 2009, a gala show and musical extravaganza with Henry D’Souza is scheduled on April 19 at “The Living Arts Centre”, Mississauga, ON, from 2.00 pm onwards.

The  successful  organization  of  ‘Wilfy Nite  Canada’ in 2005, followed by series  of Canara Kala Saanz  shows  have  now  become  an  annual event for all Mangaloreans  in  Canada.  Several Konkani lovers in Canada and abroad have applauded these initiatives, for providing an opportunity to display the talents of local as well as Mangalorean artists.

Sangeet Samrat Henry D’Souza is a great composer, singer of Konkani music lover’s heart. In fact it is his mellifluous voice that has captured the hearts of multitudes of fans through unforgettable songs and lyrics.  His songs have been broadcasted on All India Radio and radio Sri Lanka.  His HMV records, CD’s and cassettes are popular in Konkani music buffs’ homes all over the world. The show will include  all- time  hits  of  Henry  ‘Ye Ye Cathrina’, ‘Ami Dhoghi Sezara’  ‘Chanyavalli’,  ‘Phoolvali’  etc. Joyson D’Souza and troupe will score the background music for the show. In addition to his songs dances will be performed by local artists while Oswald Sequeira, Flavian Pinto and others are set to entertain the audience with their skits.
