Woman drug inspector killed in Punjab as accused fires at her

New Delhi, Mar 30: In a shocking incident, a woman drug inspector in Punjab's Kharar town was shot dead by an accused at her office on Friday, March 29.

Neha Shorie, who was the Zonal Licensing Official with the Drug and Food Chemical Laboratory in Kharar is the deceased.

According to reports, the accused went to the woman's office, fired two rounds and then shot himself. Then, he tried to run away. Police reached the spot immediately and took the accused into custody. He is undergoing treatment a hospital in Chandigarh.

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has directed the police to conduct a speedy probe into the officer's murder and to ensure the accused is appropriately punished.

    Mad guy.... tragedy for no fault of her. Such people has to be punished for life long putting in the prison.

    Fault was to be too honest in her duties. Her only fault was she got cancelled the licences of some pharmacists for dealing in prohibited drugs.
