Bangalore: Election Commission with-holds Transfers of Govt Officials

Bangalore, Mar 6: The Election Commissioned has passed instructions to keep in abeyance transfer orders of government officials who were transferred before the election code of conduct came into force, but yet to report for duties at their respective transferee offices. It has also given strict instructions to the government not to affect any transfers henceforth till the Loksabha election process is completed.

It has barred the deputy commissioners who happen to be the district returning officers, assistant returning officers and all other officials who are connected with the poll duty, from moving outside their headquarters. It has also asked the deputy commissioners to take into possessions vehicles of organizations and corporations that fall under the government administration.
