Margao, Apr 1 (TOI): President, Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress Pratima Coutinho on Sunday couldn’t conceal her disappointment over the rejection of her candidature for the South Goa Parliamentary polls, even as she said she would join the Congress’ campaign in support of Francisco Sardinha.
Addressing reporters, Coutinho expressed her gratitude to all who supported her candidature through the party’s Shakti App. “Though I was refused the ticket, I will continue working for the party without any expectations,” she said. “I have worked selflessly and dedicatedly for the party for the last 23 years. As Mahila Congress president, I took up several issues, leading to registration of several FIRs against me. However, I accept the decision of the party without any resentment,” she said.
National general secretary of Mahila Congress, Apsara Reddy, said there were various parameters considered while selecting candidates that led to Sardinha being given the ticket.
