Three get life imprisonment for murder in Gurugram

Gurugram, Apr 1 (IANS): The Gurugram Civil Court on Monday sentenced three persons involved in the brutal murder of a mechanic in 2015 to life imprisonment.

The accused, identified as Joginder Singh (35), Sandeep Kumar (25) and Ramesh chand (53), along with 10 more youths confined the victim, Naved, and beat him to death in Chandu village on August 23, 2015.

"We have registered a case under sections 302, 364, 201, 323, 342, 506 and 34 of IPC," police officer Subhash Bokan said.

Bokan said the victim had rectified a mechanical fault in a tailoring machine belonging to one of the accused, Sandeep.

"As he was not satisfied with the work done by Naved, Sandeep called him for a meeting... Naved went there with his brother Saleem. But the accused held them captive in a hotel, near Chandu village on Gurugram-Jhajjar road, and thrashed them after stripping them naked," the officer said.

Naved succumbed to multiple injuries. The FIR was registered on the basis of a statement from Salim. He was victim as well as a witness.

"It was the madness of the accused who mercilessly beat him. It was inhuman torture," Bokan said.
