Will probe Rafale deal if voted to power: Congress

New Delhi, Apr 2 (IANS): The Congress on Tuesday promised that if the party is voted to power it will probe the controversial defence deal for 36 Rafale fighter jets signed by the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Dassault Aviation.

"Congress will enforce anti-corruption laws without discrimination...," the party manifesto said.

It will investigate several deals entered into by the BJP government in the last 5 years and, in particular, the Rafale deal, it added.

Earlier, Bhalchandra Mungekar, one of the members of the party's manifesto committee, told reporters that the inquiry into the Rafale deal will be initiated on the "first day after coming to power".

The party also promised to probe the circumstances under which industrialists and fugitives like Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi fled the country.

"Congress will also investigate the circumstances under which a number of scamsters were allowed to leave the country and will take determined steps to bring them back and face legal proceedings," the manifesto released here by top Congress leaders including its President Rahul Gandhi, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, said.

Today's situation is BJP is doubtful to cross150 and Congress touches 175. Mark my words. Other than Paswan of LJP see how everyone deserts BJP and NDA. Wait and watch.

Congress needs d support of regional parties. Majority Indians need UPA to come to power led by Congress and ably supported by many regional parties. That will be power to the people of this country.

Look at the speeches of Narendra Modi, d take aways are Hindu, Muslim, Pakistan and Congress but Rahuls speech keywords are Employment, Development, MNREGA, NYAY. We need this, not the division of this country on communal lines.

Nothing matters to the people of India but such assurances that will curb Corruption. Regretfully BJP and Modi utilised this very reason and came to Power in 2014 and have squandered away a Popular and Massive mandate given to them which gave them a free hand to eradicate corruption but what the country has witnessed as that Modi and the BJP have turned a Blind eye to all matters of corruption which has resulted in rampant corruption all across the country.

The BJP has certainly benifitted from the Common Wealth games, 2G, 4G and Bofors scam and should have come clean all all reported cases of corruption and ensured accountability and punitive action. Instead they have choosen to remain a passive spectator. Atleast Congress took punitive action in the Adarsh Housing scam, 2G scam and leaders were held responsible like Raja and Ashok Chouhan despite the courts clearing them at a later stage. There was a Joint Parlimentary Probe the 2G and Bofors scam.

Since the PM himself is under a cloud in the Rafale scam, he should have ordered a JPC. By sacking the CBI Chief under questionable circumstances the suspicion is growing stronger of his culpability in the Rafale Scam. By remaining in denial he cannot avoid the inevitable. No matter which coalation Govt is formed after the elections the people of our country will need answers to unravel the corruption in this scam.

Nive the Congress has confirmed its intent to probe the Rafale deal. All political parties should simllarly give such an assurance to the people.

You missed to write 2 before 44. So Congress is going to cross 244 this time. Now you have to worry for your Chor Chowkidar party. I am not exaggerating. It is going to be true.
Everyone knows including Chowkidar that his party is not going to win. That is the reason they are desparate, taking help of our Soldiers bravery, Launch of Namo TV, Modi Movie, taking help of our spineless EC to stop strong contenders from Oppossition, raiding all opposition leaders through IT, renaming their names as Chowkidar Modi, etc.,
But what is the use. All the plans, tactics are failing miserably.
Finally after May 23, chowkidar and his gang (this includes Godi Media bosses, anchors, EC, ED, CBI bosses and some military top ranks) will be really declared as chor and go to jail.
All the best to C. Chowkidar.

There were several hundred probes in the past several decades. India does not need just one more probe to add to that list. Probe's must have definitive with time bound, maximum upto say 1year , if failed to punish guilty, then straight away resignations of PM.
