Mangaluru: City receives first unseasonal rain along with dust storm

Mangaluru, Apr 2: After days of blistering heat, people of Mangaluru on Tuesday, April 2 evening heaved a sigh of relief when the city received an unseasonal shower.

Prior to the rain, at around 5.45 pm, dust storm blanketed Kavoor, Bondel, Padavinagady and a few other areas surrounding them. It was reportedly cloudy early in the evening.

It is said that Puttur and Bantwal among other places too received light downpour.

The fragrance of the soil pervaded the air as rain drenched the city.

That's good news. We badly need the rains as there are reports from MET that water levels in many reservoirs and lakes have dropped down.

Cynthia, rightly said. I still remember the day i was in bc road with my sis and that sandstorm followed by the heavy rains more than for an hour. Wow, i was expecting the same today too. But it didn't happen. I was talking to my sis a while ago recalling the same subject.
