India retaliates firing by Pakistan troops on LoC


Jammu, Apr 5 (IANS): The Indian and Pakistani troops exchanged heavy fire on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

Defence Ministry spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Devender Anand said, "The Pakistani Army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation around 6 p.m. by shelling mortars and firing small arms along the LoC in the Degwar and Gulpur sectors."

Indian army is retaliating befittingly, he added.
