Sunny Friday morning in Delhi, heat wave likely


New Delhi, Apr 5 (IANS): It was a sunny Friday morning in the national capital, with the minimum temperature recorded at 20 degrees Celsius, the season's average, while the maximum is expected to hover around 39 degrees, the weather office said.

There is a possibility of heat wave at few places following thunderstorm towards the afternoon.

"There would be mainly clear sky but it will become partly cloudy with the possibility of dust storm and thunderstorm towards the afternoon and evening. Heat wave conditions are likely at few places," an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was recorded at 76 per cent.

The maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded at 36.8 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average, while the minimum was 18.7 degrees Celsius, average for the season.
