Gangrape accused jailed for 20 years in Jharkhand


Ranchi, April 5 (IANS): A court in Jharkhand's Jamtara district on Friday awarded 20 year imprisonment to two persons found guilty of gang-raping a girl.

According to a lawyer, Additional District Judge Kamal Kumar Srivastav had found them guilty on Thursday.

On Friday, the court sentenced Ram Das Hembrom and Marlin Marandi to 20 years in jail. Three others were sentenced to eight years in jail: Bhim Marandi, Som Marandi and Saheblal Marandi.

The youths were accused of forcibly entering the house of the victim, taking her away and gang-raping her.
