Ghaziabad, Apr 6: Congress general secretary and in-charge for eastern Uttar Pradesh, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his constituency in Varanasi.
Priyanka addressing a public gathering in a road show at Ghaziabad lashed out at PM Modi saying, "Fifteen days back I went to Varanasi, I had thought the Prime Minister must have worked hard in his constituency. I asked people if he visits here, and was told that he comes only to gives speeches and leaves. They told me that he does big rallies and leaves without meeting the villagers. I was surprised that the Prime Minister did not get even five minutes of time to visit a single family, in any of the villages of his parliamentary constituency. He went to Japan and hugged there, went to China and hugged there and had Biryani in Pakistan but have you seen him hugging any poor in Varanasi?”
Priyanka also said the Prime Minister repeatedly mentions her family but does not talk about his own work. "When he is out to campaign, he never talks about a single achievement of his. He has issues with our family and can only say that Nehru did this and Indira Gandhi did that. I want to ask Modi JI, what exactly did you do?"
She also said that the promises made by the politicians are not in favour of anyone as they are the rights of the people. "If some politician comes forward with a few promises, remember that it is your right and not a favour for anyone. Democracy means governance which is yours and you are capable of making choices for your future. People who are in the government for five years forget that governance is only for five years."
In Ghaziabad, Priyanka campaigned for Dolly Sharma, the Congress party candidate from the constituency. People showered rose petals from rooftops as her convoy passed by. In the midst of this were a large number of flags and posters. A single large cut-out of Rafale stood out prominently.
