Ajit Singh hits out at BJP, calls it 'anti-farmer'

Deoband (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 7 (IANS): Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Ajit Singh on Sunday called the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) "anti-farmer" and alleged that it had come to power by creating communal tensions.

Addressing the first joint BSP-SP-RLD rally in Uttar Pradesh along with BSP supremo Mayawati and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, Singh said: "The BJP has done nothing in the last five years. Today even the farmers are saying that their crops are being gobbled up by Modi-Yogi. But the situation is changing and the ouster of the BJP is a certainty now."

"'Achhe Din' has come for Modi, not you," Singh told the gathering.

Making a direct attack on the Prime Minister, Singh said: "The farmers had gone to Delhi on October 2 seeking fair price for sugarcane but you subjected them to lathi charge and water cannons. This government is ant-farmer."

BSP's Fazlur Rahman is contesting the Lok Sabha election from Saharanpur constituency, which will go to the polls in the first phase on April 11.
