Kumta, Apr 8: Efforts to save time sometimes may lead to surprises. In one such incident, the police who were on election work stopped an approaching car for inspection. But a deity with a crown on the seat of driver shocked them.

Yakshagana artistes remain in busy schedules. Artiste Nilkodu Shankar Hegde sat on the driver’s seat and was driving from one place to the other in the Yakshagana costumes to save time.

Shankar has shared the surprise on Saturday night on Facebook page. It is said that election officials also took selfies with him and celebrated the occasion.

He explained that he had to go to another Yakshagana after finishing a programme in Guddeyangdi. As it was late already, he drove with his makeup on. “The look stunned my wife also. There was surprise and joy on the faces of election officials and police who wanted to check the vehicle. All the people took my pictures,” he said.
