Udupi: Sri Raghumanyateertha Swami Anoints Sri Raghuvarendrateertha as Successor

Udupi, Mar 13: Twenty five year-old Vedic scholar Ramachandra Aras, son of Venkatesh and Ahalya couple, residents of Beejadi near Kundapur in the district, was appointed as the forty third Swami of Bheemasetu Munivranda Math, located in Teertahalli taluk of Shimoga district and successor to Sri Raghumanyateertha Swamiji of Bheemasetu Math, at the anointing ceremony held at Sri Krishna Math Chandrashale at 10.40 am on Friday March 13.
Ramachandra Aras was re-christened as Sri Raghuvarendrateertha Swami before he was anointed as successor to Sri Raghumanyateertha Swamiji.
Various Vedic rituals connected with the event were performed as per traditions of the Math traditions, by the Swamijis on the occasion. The newly anointed Sri Raghuvarendrateertha Swami underwent holy dip at Madwa Sarovar (temple lake) at Sri Krishna Math, accepted the saffron robes from his Guru Sri Sri Raghumanyateertha Swamiji, offered prayers to Lord Sri Krishna, prostrated at the feet of Sri Raghumanyateertha and Sri Sugunendrateertha Swami of Puttige Math and was anointed as the successor of Sri Raghumanyateertha Swamiji amidst chanting of Pranav Mantra and carrying the holy ‘Saligrama’ stone on his head to the blowing of trumpets.
Sri Raghumanyateertha Swamiji rechristened Ramachandra Aras as Sri Raghuvarendrateerta Swami with the support of Sri Sugunendrateerta Swami of Puttige Math, who gave his approval. Later, both Sri Raghumanyateertha and Sri Sugunendrateertha Swamijis offered Mangalarati to Sri Raghuvarendrateertha Swami.
Haridas Seva Samiti members congratulated Sri Raghuvarendrateertha Swami on the occasion.
Mantralaya Math administrator Rajagopal Acharya, Haridas Upadhyaya, Sreesha Bhat and others were present on the occasion.
