Mangaluru, Apr 11: BJP spokesperson Malavika Avinash on Thursday, April 11 said that the Congress was using Rafale issue for electoral gains and to hide party president Rahul Gandhi’s failures.

Addressing media at BJP’s election office, she said, “Nothing is wrong in the Rafale deal. Congress is using Rafale issue to hide the failures of their leader Rahul Gandhi. Narendra Modi government has nothing to do with Rafale. The deal will benefit India’s armed forces. The CAG report proved that nothing was wrong with the deal. Even the court does not see anything wrong in the deal. Rahul Gandhi has misunderstood the statement of the court and is passing baseless comments.

“The failure of UPA government and new vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought NDA to power in 2014. People had faith in Narendra Modi and in the last five years, he has kept his promises. Now where ever Modi goes, people rush to see him. When he came to power, he told the nation that he will prepare a report card and he wants marks from the citizens. Now after five years, people are ready to give him full marks as he became the ambassador for the nation’s development. In Dakshina Kannada, Nalin Kumar Kateel also joined hands with Modi and played an important role to bring development in the district,” she said.

Criticising Congress’ manifesto which was released recently, she said, “In 70’s, Congress raised the slogan 'Garibi Hatao'. Now even after 40 years, the same slogan has been included in their manifesto renaming it as 'Nyay Yojana’. Seeing this, we can understand how they failed to fulfill their promise they made to the nation forty years ago. In their manifesto, they have promised to remove the sedition law. It clearly shows that Congress supports separatists, naxals and people who are against our law and Constitution.

“Whenever I visit the district, I remember the Siddaramaiah government’s brutality on Hindu community. The murders of Sharath Madivala, Prashanth Poojary, Paresh Mesta, and Deepak Rao all took place during the time of Siddaramaiah’s tenure. His extreme love towrads Tipu Sultan is the only reason for these murders. The current coalition government in the state is also not bothered of Hindu community and is following the Siddaramaiah’s footsteps. Hence, it is necessary to bring Modi back to power to make India a leading nation in world both economically and diplomatically,” she said.
