Jaipur, Mar 18:
A teacher of a private school has been arrested for allegedly hacking and burning to death a 19-year-old student in the Riico industrial area under Bagaru police station on Friday night.

The boy was killed following a brawl the deceased had with his classmate – a girl — and her brother, earlier in the day. The police said that the girl had an affair with the teacher.

According to police, the accused – identified as Babulal (28) – was teaching geography and history at Radha Govind Senior Secondary School in Ajaypura village where the deceased – Jagdish Jat — was a student of Class XII.

"Jagdish and her classmate appeared in Class XII at a government school in Bhankrota area on Friday," said Ashok Chauhan, officer in charge of Bagaru police station.

"Jagdish was returning home to Hasanpura village with his friend on his bike, while the girl was being accompanied by her brother on another bike," he added.

"On the way, Jagdish and the girl's brother picked up a fight when both of them tried to overtake each other," he said describing the incident.

Both the parties exchanged heated words and abused each other. "The girl, who had an affair with the teacher, Babulal, told him over phone that Jagdish had abused her and her brother. At this, Babulal got enraged and decided to kill Jagdish," Chauhan added.

On Friday night, Babulal asked a neighbour for his bike and went to Jagdish's home in Hasanpura village. He was allegedly carrying a can of kerosene and an axe.

When he was told by the deceased's neighbours that Jagdish had gone to attend a marriage in Bagaru village, Babulal went there and asked Jagdish to accompany him as he wanted to discuss the fight earlier in the day.

In Ricco industrial area, Babulal stopped his bike and allegedly hacked Jagdish's throat with the axe.

Then, he poured kerosene on him and put him on fire, police said. Babulal later confessed to his crime, police claimed.
