Modi speaking lies about Sabarimala: Kerala CM

Kollam (Kerala), Apr 14 (IANS): Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday called Prime Minister Narendra Modi a liar.

Addressing an election rally here, about 70 km from the state capital, Vijayan slammed Modi for speaking about Sabarimala in neighbouring states, while in Kerala he did not take the name of the shrine when he spoke at a rally at Kozhikode last week.

"Modi is going around saying that if anyone utters the word Sabarimala during the election campaign in Kerala, they will be arrested. This is baseless and a big lie," the Chief Minister said.

"What we did was only to abide by the apex court directive on Sabarimala. Those who violated the rule of law were arrested," said Vijayan.

Modi, while addressing election rallies in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, had breathed fire against Vijayan for arresting devotees who protested against the manner in which the tradition and culture of Sabarimala were violated.

"Modi as the Prime Minister also would have done the same thing and that's to abide by the directive of the apex court," Vijayan said.

"To protect the democratic principles of our country, we have to abide by the verdicts of the apex court. That's all what we did. But what the Sangh Parivar forces did was to send criminals (to the town).

"I am sure Modi also would have had a role in creating unrest at the Sabarimala temple town," said Vijayan, and asked the people to vote for the Left Democratic Front led by the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M).

CPI-M Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan told the media on Sunday that the 'Sabarimala Karma Samithi' which protested in front of the Secretariat was a 'karma samithi' of the RSS and its leader Swami Chithananda Puri was no 'swami' but a RSS leader.

On Saturday, the Swami urged people to defeat those opposed to the tradition and culture of the Sabarimala temple.

The PM has become a habitual Liar who indulges in falsehoods to save his chair. No PM has shown such irresponsibility by indulging in such cheap level divisive politics to remain relevant in politics. No a word he utters about his five years of total mis governnance. A total failure on all fronts.

"This government has been a failure on all fronts and has inflicted pain and misery on the people through its reckless decisions of demonetisation and hasty imposition of a flawed GST, demonetization and GST disrupted the economy, trade and industry, led to closure of lakhs of factories and tens of millions of workers lost their jobs and livelihood. The unprecedented joblessness, agrarian crisis and distress of farmers and agricultural laborers are issues of grave national concern. The Modi government is guilty of monumental mismanagement of the Indian economy.

No accountability at all for corruption during the last five years. Corruption has become rampant across the country. After the next Govt is formed all the skeletons in the BJP vast array of hidden cupboards will be exposed including the Rafale Scam.

Modi Sarkar Ko Hatao. Desh Ko Bachao. They should be made accountable for over 100 deaths in ATM Ques after the Demoitisation.
