SC issues notice to Rahul Gandhi over ‘Chowkidar chor hai’ remark

Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi

New Delhi, Apr 15: Supreme Court issued a notice to Congress president Rahul Gandhi over his remarks against Narendra Modi on a contempt petition and sought Gandhi's response by April 22.

Earlier this week, BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi requested the Supreme Court for criminal contempt action against Congress president Rahul Gandhi over his comments in the Rafale case.

In her petition, Meenakshi Lekhi claimed, "The words used and attributed by him to SC in the Rafale case has been made to appear as something else. He is replacing his personal statement as Supreme Court's order and trying to create prejudice."

As reported in ANI, SC has pointed out that the remark 'Chowkidar Modi is Chor' in Rafale deal, has been incorrectly attributed to the apex court by Gandhi. A bench led by CJI Ranjan Gogoi said that the court had not passed any remark against PM Narendra Modi, thus holding that Gandhi's statements were wrong.

Shouldn't the SC rather insist on JPC to evaluate whether the Chowkidaar is chor or not ??

Entire nation will be elated upon knowing that RG is wrong in his judgement as well as vocabulary.

Jennifer, Court investigation is an independent investigation. JPC will be filled with BJP members and other politicians, who generally give a clean chit.It is a partisan exercise. My take is any one who is accusing the government of fraud must have proof with which they should file a case. Simple...Congress has so many imminent lawyers. Why arent they doing so if they believe there are wrong doings.

Does court did any investigation? Courts verdict based on the documents submitted which are full of lies. Court should order an independent enquiry or Parliament should probe with JPC which is constitutional. Agree there is imminent lawyers in congress or any other party. Remember any political party cannot be a judicial activist. Political parties can bring out the corruptions or any misdeeds of the ruling Govt to the public and public will decide with voting out. Rafale fraud can be investigated only through JPC and govt should voluntarily initiate if there is nothing to hide.

The BJP is aiming at a self Goal on this issue. Newspapers will carryout the Supreme Court Proceedings and the Chorus will grow louder in the country that Chowkidar Chor Hai.

This whole issue could have been solved if the PM had agreed to a JPC in Parliment and allowed the CBI to file a case. By dismissing the CBI Director is such questionable circumstances the PM has given rise to grave suspicions that he is guilty in the Rafale Scam.

The Rafale Scam refuses to die down no matter how much the Govt would try to hide or remain in denial. Sensational news keeps forthcoming from France with the recent expose of tax waver to Ani Ambani after the deal was renegotiated by Modi.

Zaroor Kuch Dal Mai Kala Hai. The PM should clear his name by submitting to the Supreme Court for a court monitored probe as well as a JPC.

Actually we all know who is roaming around on bail in corruption case.
The game plan adopted here is to keep lying hunderds of time, thousands of times, lie thru your teeth until there is a semblance of belief from onlookers. But this dirty ploy will not work here in India.

Once the current Govt. out from rule God knows how many chowkidars will be on bail. How many scams will comes out once the investigations started. Now the Govt gives clean chit to itself without ordering any investigation or jpc on rafale. I don't understand why bhaktas not seeing visible facts. Jeet sachai ki hogi, Bagwan ghar Dher hai par andher nahi--beware

SC, EC, ED, IT, CBI, RBI all are Modi supporters or controlled by Modi & Shah. They act or react only when there is a signal from these duo. If all these institutions would have realized that they are constitutional & independent bodies, then wouldn't have felt a scary situation in India. I don't have any hesitation to tell these bodies are spineless who can't act on their own and which are under threat by this duo.
Therefore, I request people of my country, if you need a peaceful atmosphere, please do not get influenced by this duo and their party leaders words. Think before you vote.

Ultimately the SC takes cognizance of the fact & the necessity to establish – who is Chowkidar & who is Chor….!!!!
Thank God…, LORD BRAHMA takes care of his creations….!!!! After all it makes no difference what Shriman Rahul Gandhiji tell or no-tell or allege…, the fact remains…, and the obvious can’t be changed so long as LORD BRAHMA is in control of his creations…,

Let the supreme court decide who is Chor in Rafael deal..,

Well, not Rahul, but Baba Ramdev is a saint, Zubin Irani is a saint, Hema Malini is a saint, Anandiben is a saint, Adani, Ambani are saints, Chickki queen is a saint - this is a crude mention. Very filtered list will be much longer in contradiction to the process that otherwise filtering becomes shorter.

Rahul did not hold any ministerial berth till now, hence no question of stealing!
Elect Rahul as Prime MInister, we will evaluate him whether he is chor or saint in 2024 the same way we did for Modi, we elected him considering him as a SAINT , unfortunately he did not prove himself as saint.
