New Delhi, Apr 19: Following the ban on release of the biopic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi starring Vivek Oberoi, the EC has now sought a report from the West Bengal chief electoral officer over Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's biopic, reportedly scheduled for release next month.
While the biopic titled 'Baghini' is due to release on May 3, BJP had approached the EC seeking ban on its release till the election process is over.
The party has also asked the Election Commission to review the biopic.
The last of the seven phases of Lok Sabha elections will be held on May 19 and counting will be done on May 23.
