Had ‘cursed’ Hemant Karkare and he died within two months, brags Sadhvi Pragya

Bhopla, Apr 19: Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, an accused in the Malegaon blast case and the BJP candidate against former MP Chief Minister Digvijay Singh in Bhopal, has said that 26/11 hero Hemant Karkare died because she had ‘cursed’ him.

Hemant Karkare was the chief of the Mumbai Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) when he was shot three times in the chest and killed along with two other senior police officers while fighting terrorists during the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai in November 2008. He had investigated Sadhvi Pragya in connection with the blasts in Malegaon two months before the Mumbai attack.

Sadhvi Pragya at a press conference on Thursday said, "I had told him you will be finished, and he was killed by terrorists in less than two months," and the BJB leaders received her words with a loud applause bragged and flanked her for her repulsive statement.

"The investigation team called Hemant Karkare and said if you do not have evidence, let her go. He said, I will do anything to get evidence against her. I won't let her go. This was his hatred (kuteelta). He was anti-national. He was dharam virudh (anti-religion). You won't believe, but I said, 'tera sarvanashhoga'. Just after 'sawa' month, terrorists killed him," said Sadhvi Pragya to reporters on Thursday.

Mr Karkare was the first officer to investigate the blasts on September 29, 2008, in which, Col Shrikant Purohit, Sadhvi Pragya and others were arrested and charged with plotting the blasts. The blast had reportedly killed six people and injured 101 in Malegaon town. However, in 2015, Sadhvi Pragya got a clean chit by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) but the trial court refused to let her off and said it is difficult to accept NIA report since her motorcycle was found used in the blast. Though the court dropped charges against her, the trial is still on under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Sadhvi Pragya joined the BJP this week and was named as the party's candidate from Bhopal for the upcoming election. Bhopal will go to polls on May 12.

    For, Karkare died fighting the 26/11 terrorists on the streets of Mumbai and he fought those terrorists without fear or favor. To Karkare, the nation was supreme and a terrorist was a terrorist, no matter whether Hindu or Muslim, Indian or Pakistani.

    As the former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi had awarded a compensation of Rs one crore to his widow Kavita Karkare who turned down the amount on the ground that her husband had died fighting for the nation and that his martyrdom came without a price tag.

    The night of 26/11 still haunts Mumbai's people and they know the streets are safe today because of brave soldiers like Karkare, Ashok Kamte, Omble and Vijay Salaskar, all exemplary police officers throughout their careers, who died so that people may sleep at night in peace.

    That Modi had been trying to score brownie points against the then Congress-led governments in Maharashtra and New Delhi is quite another issue. But Modi and the BJP might now have to answer why Kavita Karkare was being sought to be compensated for her husband's death if he was not considered a martyr who had died in the cause of the nation. And if indeed Modi then considered him a patriot, why is Pragya Thakur now labeling him as a traitor to the nation's cause and claiming that her curse claimed his life?

    Karkare indeed died because of his karma, they say but not in the manner Thakur claims. He was discharging his duty in an exemplary manner without caring for his life. Saffron terror statements are sullying the memories of not just this Ashok Chakra awardee but also other martyrs like Tukaram Omble.
    Is 'Takur' community know for courage and bravery will endorse terrorist of India?

    She is in a process of getting higher post by BJP which she got their eligibility certificate.....

    If Godse was there he also would have got Ticket from BJP........

    While Hemant Karkare died a martyr's death fighting terrorist, it is a shame that this good for nothing sadhvi is making mockery of brave officer's death. It is a shame that ruling national party fielding such sick minded people to contest elections and people who are going to vote these kind of characters are responsible for the consequences. This clearly shows where our political masters have taken our system.

    Hemant Karkare died on duty, became a martyre.
    The statement of Pragya gives rise to the doubt, as if entire Mumbai Terror attack could be a sabotage of vested interests.
    Fanatics have been wanting to turn the country to a fanatics rogue state. Anything in the name of religion should be pardoned, never questioned.
    They provoke the youths and make them rogues, unemployable, and
    then use them for terrorizing activities and enslave them like Pakistan and Taliban.
    This happening when Kingdom like UAE is increasingly becoming more tolerant and secular😀

    Most of the honest people are aware of the truth that Hemanth karkare was exposing the truth of real hidden terrorists of India. Unfortunately he was murdered by the well planned strategy.
