National Investigation Agency is Toothless, says RSS

Nagpur, Mar 23: The Rashtriya Swayayamsewak Sangh (RSS) on Sunday, while expressing concern over lack of political will in tackling terror with effective measures has described the newly formed National Investigation Agency (NIA) as the toothless one.

The three-day Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha, an apex concil of Sangh Parivar which passed a resolution on terror said the new anti-terror law was brought in hurriedly under the public pressure in the aftermath of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks and it does not incorporate any real strong measures.

NIA remains toothless in the absence of a clear mandate, the resolution said, adding, the government is guided by extraneous political considerations which is evident in some cabinet ministers' audacious statements almost exonerating Pakistan and suggesting Mumbai attack a results of certain local development.

The resolution on terror, however, remained silent on demand for hanging Parliament attack kingpin Afzal Guru. When asked, RSS functionary Madan Das Devi, told reporters that the issue did figure during the discussion on terror resolution.

The resolution further said that Mumbai attacks have once again established the fact that Pakistan is the epicentre of global terrorism.

The Sabha expressed its firm opinion that degeneration of Pakistan has turned it into a rogue state.
