Sri Lanka, Apr 22: UK-Scotland billionaire Anders Holch Povlsen lost his three children in the serial blasts that shook Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday.
The 46-year-old business magnate is the owner of online clothing retailer Asos. A spokesperson from the company confirmed the death of his three children in the attacks but has not confirmed their identity nor the blast in which they lost their life.
According to media reports, Povlsen's four children had been vacationing in Sri Lanka. One of his daughters uploaded a photograph of her three siblings enjoying a day out in front of palm trees and the sea in Sri Lanka on Instagram.
According to Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Anders Holch Povlsen has a net worth of $5.7 billion. He and his wife Anne hold an estimate 2,00,000 acres of the Scottish Highlands, and had planned to rewild the landscape to preserve it for future generations, according to media reports.
“We have no further comment and we ask that the family’s privacy is respected at this time,” the spokesperson said.
The bombings at churches and luxury hotels across Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday killed over 290 people and wounded about 500.
