Darbhanga, Apr 25: Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RSLP) leader Upendra Kushwaha who was earlier a minister in the BJP-led NDA government has accused BJP for being hypocritical.

In a statement that has sparked a controversy he compared BJP to that actor in Ram Leela who plays the role of Sita on stage and gains people’s respect. However, the same actor will be seen smoking cigarettes backstage.

“BJP is full of evils inside but projects goodness from outside. I have seen the party from inside as I was in the NDA government,” he said.

Rashtriya Lok Samta Party had pulled out from the coalition in December 2018.

Kushwaha also took a dig at Union minister Giriraj Singh who said people who don't vote for NDA will be sent to Pakistan.

“Soon after Mahagathbandhan is formed, we will make sure that we will send them to the desert. Let’s see how they will send us to Pakistan,” Kushwaha lashed out.

Kushwaha is former Minister of State for HRD ministry. He is a Member of Parliament from Karakat Lok Sabha seat in Rohtas district of Bihar. He is also former Rajya Sabha member. In Lok Sabha Elections 2019, he is contesting from Bihar’s Karakat and Ujiarpur constituency.
