Ahmedabad, Apr 27: A 20-year-old college student, who was brutally gang-raped by four men while returning from Chaibasa to Jorapokhar with her boyfriend by motorcycle in July last year, died of medical complications on Thursday.

As per PTI report, two of the accused, Ankit Parekh (24) and Chirag Vaghela (23), were arrested on Friday following the incident.

It is reported that the woman was adopted by a family when she was an infant. She was allegedly raped by four men in July 2018 but she could not tell her family about the incident until last month because of fear and trauma.

She told her family about the incident and they approached the police last month.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Akshayraj Makwana said, "The woman took some pills to terminate the unwanted pregnancy and as a result she gave birth to a stillborn child and fell ill. She died at a hospital yesterday due to health complications."

“From the woman's statement, we first identified Hardik Shukla as one of the accused. Chirag Vaghela and Ankit Parekh were identified and arrested on Friday. Shukla and 'Raj' were yet to be traced.” Makwana said.

“We raided several places across the state while hunting for Shukla but he remained elusive, we have also collected his parents' DNA samples to check if he was involved in the crime,” said DCP.

    Ganesh,

Congress is nowhere in the picture. Gujarat is all BJP and Modi set out to make every state in India in the Model of the state of which he was CM for twelve and half years. If he made the state a model, certainly its people were exemplary too ??? Where is Congress in the scenario ?

I only hope the leaders of the party will not accuse the girl of keeping quiet till she gave forceful still birth. Now that she is not alive anymore, such questions will be more valuable than her life because they want their sons to live even at the cost of their daughter's life.

Women! Join hands & compel the government to pass a law immediately dictating "death" for rapists, irrespective of the age of rapist(s). Try these monsters in fast track courts? There is no time to wait. Follow the Gulf Countries in handling such crimes. Women wake up? If a family member of a ruling Minister is raped, this will open the eyes of the government?

Law must be first applied to all politicians who are involved in such crimes.

    Why calling for women?
Aren't we men responsible at all for the safety of our girls ?
We all should start an agitation which should reach nationwide and should pose a threat to the central government which in turn could make the parliament to pass a stricter law!

The fact shouldn't be forgotten that, the delay in stricter laws is because of the fear and previous misuse of the available laws by women themselves!!!
