Shatrughan Sinha says Jinnah is part of Congress family

Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai

New Delhi, Apr 27: Former BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha, while addressing a public meeting in Sausar in Madhya Pradesh’s Chindwara, on Friday, praised Muhammad Ali Jinnah and said he had a role to play in India's Independence.

Sinha, who recently left the BJP and joined the Congress, said Muhammad Ali Jinnah along with Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel and Jawaharlal Nehru had a role to play in India's independence.

"Ye Congress parivar Mahatma Gandhi se leke, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel se leke, Muhammad Ali Jinnah se leke, Jawaharlal Nehru se leke, swargiya Indira Gandhi se leke, Rajiv Gandhi se leke aur Rahul Gandhi se leke inki party hai jinka desh ke vikas me, desh ki tarakki me, desh ki azadi me sabse mehatvapurna aur sabse bada yogdaan hua, isliye hum yaha aye (Congress family from Mahatma Gandhi, Sarkar Patel, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi had the most important role in development and freedom of the country. This is the reason why I have come here," Sinha said.

Sinha was campaigning for Chief Minister Kamal Nath's son Nakul Nath, who is contesting from Chhindwara Lok Sabha parliamentary constituency against BJP's Nathan Shah.

During the campaign, Sinha took an indirect jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, “A party is bigger than a person, country is bigger than a party and nothing is bigger than a nation.” He also mentioned topics like GST and demonetisation.

"The Congress government has waived the loan of farmers in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. People are curious about NYAY scheme now," he said.

The candidate is important. Not the part he/ she belongs to. Ideology is one thing. But if the candidate is incompetent what is the use of the ideology?
