Mangaluru, Apr 30: ‘Sridevi Lives Forever….’ Yes, that is what Sandeep Malani, her greatest devotee and all her million fans worldwide have made a point and been using this slogan, hashtag and posting on social media networks on her pictures, videos and articles. Malani says, “Sridevi is Eternal and there is no end to her. Although physically she is no longer with us in our planet, her large amount of work with 300 films and a huge collection of her songs keeps her alive and keeps the fans entertained for life long.”
It has been since 10 years now that Malani has been in Facebook and the first thing 10 years ago when he just started Facebook, his first post was about Sridevi and he made a fan page on her and since then, continuously daily has been only posting her pictures, articles, videos, songs, scenes and giving information about her South and Hindi films details and database to fans.
There has been a Sridevi Film Festival on social media from her best selective films, to those of her Tamil and Telugu collections to Hindi’s award winning films. And the festival has been not only on social media but also on screenings at gatherings of fans in a private theatre during Sridevi’s birthdays and special occasions of her completion of 50 years in Indian Cinema, her comeback films English Vinglish and of lately, Mom.
Continuing the trend, Malani has come up with something special this time. Come May 1, he starts a new segment titled ‘Naino Main Sapna, Sapnon Main Sridevi’; to refresh your mornings everyday with Sridevi Songs on social media network. Right from her first film Thunaivan to Mom, she has 300 films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi (and that includes her child hood films too). With such a big database of her songs; Malani is keen on sharing those everyday to her fans on Facebook via Youtube. He also plans to give trivia, information and talk live to the audience related to the song titled ‘SrideviBaaz’.
He recalls when Sridevi was 50-year-old, he had made special musical documentary on her in 3 languages and gifted it to her. It was titled Roop Ki Rani (Hindi), Sentoora Poove (Tamil) and Athiloka Sundari (Telugu). She was very much impressed with those collections. And just last year, Sandeep had done a short documentary on her titled ‘Sridevi Lives Forever’ which was screened at an International Film Festival where she was honoured for her contribution to Indian Cinema.
Sridevi’s Songs will be uploaded daily on Facebook from May 1, 2019. It is a Malani Talkies presentation.
