Oman, Mar 31: It was a excellent end of Sharp Electronics-sponsored Sharp Cricket Cup 2009, when Tosco XI (Tawoos Oil Supplying Company LLC) emerged champions after winning the grand final match over Star Lights Cricket Club. The finals were keenly contested between Tosco XI, Star Lights Cricket Club. They reached to the grand final after defeating Indo-Pak Friends and SBA –Nissan teams respectively. The sponsors were very much delighted to sponsor an action-packed weekend tournament. Battling it out for first position in the tournament, 22 teams played a number of very skilful and close games with a great sense of sportsmanship clearly evident.
Trevor DeMonte, Al Hashar Group chief operating officer was the chief guest and he was present to witness the semifinal and final matches. Trevor also congratulated all the players, presenting them with gifts during the prize-giving ceremony held at the end of the day.
Presenting the prizes Trevor said, "We are pleased to have had this chance to support such an exhilarating event, which has provided a great festival of cricket for everyone to enjoy. We are thrilled to cheer people to spend their time in healthy pursuits and this also serves a good example to all the sports lovers.”
In addition to chief guest the senior official from WJ Towel –Consumer products division also witnessed a few of matches and encouraged the players.
In addition to the individual prizes the teams also enjoyed the free meals coupons sponsored by McDonalds. Man of the Match of every match received a Gift Hamper of Super Max sponsored by WJ Towell –CPD. The man of the tournament, Best Bowler, Best Batsman, Best All-rounder also received the DVD players, ovens sponsored by Sharp Electronics.

TOSCO XI won the toss and they elected to field first, where as Star Lights Cricket Club scored 27 Runs for 9 wickets from their 6 overs.
