Policeman shot at home in Srinagar, critically injured


Srinagar, May 2 (IANS): A policeman was critically injured when militants shot him in his house here on Wednesday, police sources said.

According to the sources, militants barged into the house of a selection grade police constable, Muhammad Illiyas in Kaw Mohalla locality in Khanyar area in the old city and fired at him.

"The constable sustained serious injuries in this attack. He has been shifted to hospital for treatment. The area has been surrounded for searches," a source said.
