Bhopal, May 2: Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh who is known to make controversial statements, raised feathers when he questioned how UN blacklisting of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar would help when Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is ‘flaunting’ his friendship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
United Nations designated Masood Azhar as a global terrorist on Wednesday, when China finally conceded and did not use its veto power to block India’s attempt to list Masood Azhar after ten years of opposing the move.
Few hours after the diplomatic win, Digvijaya Singh Singh said in Bhopal, "How will listing Masood Azhar as a global terrorist help when the Pakistan Prime Minister is flaunting his friendship with Modiji. I would say, Dawood Ibrahim, Masood Azhar and Hafiz Saeed should be immediately handed over to India."

However, Congress had welcomed Masood Azhar's blacklisting but with a piece of advice to the NDA government and said the government should push for the announcement of a bounty on his head as was done by the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government against Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed.
