Mumbai, May 2: Model Cooperative Bank opened its 24th branch at Goregaon west on Wednesday May 1. Grameen Capital India Limited chief executive officer Royston Braganza inaugurated the branch of the bank.
Model Bank executive president Albert W D’Souza chaired the programme. Goregaon West Our Lady of Rosary Church chief priest Fr Dr Francis Carvalho lit the lamp.
Albert D’Souza said that the bank has 70,000 shareholders and a share capital of Rs 37 crore. It has deposits worth Rs 1,030 crore, a turnover of Rs 1,600 crore and advances of Rs 570 crore.
Directors of the bank, office bearers, senior officials, building owner and elite were present.
Bank’s vice president William Sequeira welcomed the gathering and honored the guests. Director Thomas D’Lobo presented an introduction. Edward Rasquinha introduced the guests and compered the programme. Branch manager Raina Fernandes led a prayer and proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded after the National Anthem.
