Delhi sees drizzles, thunderstorm likely on Friday


New Delhi, May 3 (IANS): Some parts of Delhi witnessed drizzles on Thursday evening and there are chances of thunderstorm with light rains and gusty winds on Friday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

"The day was clear till evening but later it turned cloudy. Drizzles were reported in Safadarjung and Palam areas in the evening. However, there were no major rains any where, as expected," an IMD official told IANS.

Maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 41.0 degrees Celsius while minimum was 25.8 degrees.

The IMD forecast that there are chances of thunderstorm on Friday with very light rains in Delhi and adjoining areas, and the day will remain partly cloudy. There could also be dust storm.

Maximum temperature on Friday is expected to touch 39 degrees Celsius, while the minimum would hover around 26 degrees.
