'Fear and frustration': CM Kumaraswamy flays Modi for remarks on Rajiv Gandhi

Bengaluru, May 5 (IANS): Karnataka Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Sunday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks against former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi at an election rally in Uttar Pradesh on Friday.

"Modi's comments against Rajiv are not only despicable and condemnable, but also reflect his state of mind," said Kumaraswamy in a tweet. Fear and frustration had impaired Modi's judgement, he added.

"Shame on PMModi @INCIndia@INC Karnataka," said the chief minister in another tweet.

Attacking Congress President Rahul Gandhi at an election rally in UP's Pratapgarh, Modi had said: "Your father was termed Mr Clean by his courtiers, but his life ended as 'Bhrashtachari No. 1'."

PM @narendramodi's comments against former PM #RajivGandhi are not only despicable and highly condemnable, but also reflect the PM's state of mind. Fear and frustration have taken over his judgement.

Congress General Secretary and state party in-charge K.C. Venugopal also blasted Modi's attack on Rajiv Gandhi. "PM is desperately trying to spread untruths about one of the most respectable political figures India ever had due to frustration and fear for losing election," said Venugopal in a tweet.

Regretting that no Prime Minister had hit such a low, Venugopal said Modi's comments were disgusting and the nation would not tolerate them.

"Spreading lies and character assassination of political opponents even after their supreme sacrifice for the nation is a new low in the political discourse of the country. No Prime Minister in the country have ever stooped such a low for cheap political gain," said Venugopal in a statement later.

RSS minded people much better than ISIS/Taliban minded. Modi was CM in Gujarat for many years I didn't see any Muslims complaints against him. Chor is a chor alive or dead. Read some books or google and see how these maha chors looted our country. because of these chors we are not a super power yet.

Feel sad of Modi comments on Former PM late Rajiv Gandhi. How shame on him to pass such comments on deceased PM. Hope god helps him with more wisdoms to be just and fair on his future comments being a PM of INDIA. I m not a supporter of any political parties and nothing to.do with politics but not able to see bias on humanity based on religion or politics.

#ChowkidarChor Narendra Modi is despicable and has shown it both in word and deed. After orchestrating mass murders in Gujarat and terrorizing the minority populations around the country, he now thinks it fit to criticize deceased leaders. This only indicates the hollowness of his personality.

I hope and pray Indians are wise enough to see through the machinations of the current government at the center and elect secular and clean politicians who will work to make India a great nation.

Name anyone PM who spoke more about himself and others history instead of development and jobs. Such cheap talks from leaders, what improvements can you expect other than chowkidaar n selling Pakoda.
