Mayawati hints at her PM ambition

Ambedkar Nagar (Uttar Pradesh), May 6 (IANS): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) President Mayawati has indicated that if she gets a chance to become the Prime Minister, she will contest the Lok Sabha election from Ambedkar Nagar.

"If all goes well, I may have to seek election form here because the road to national politics passes through Ambedkar Nagar," she said.

Mayawati has won the Lok Sabha elections from Ambedkar Nagar four times - 1989, 1998, 1999 and 2004.

Addressing a rally in Ambedkar Nagar in the backdrop of her cut-out in which she is seen standing outside Parliament, Mayawati said that the era of 'Namo Namo' was over and time had come for those who chant ‘Jai Bhim'.

This is the first time in these elections that Mayawati has given clear indications about her aspirations for the Prime Minister's post though her ally, Akhilesh Yadav of Samajwadi Party, has repeatedly said that he would back Mayawati as Prime Minister.

I think she will be a PM. Since Bjp will short of majority. Congress will support her ,similar to Karnataka.
congress will not get more than 100 and they have no other option but to support Mayawati or mamatha.

    @ Rathan, Mangalore

This time I totally agree with your opinion.
Mayawati is really wishing to achieve what is called impossible. (not even in her wildest dreams.
If that is case what about:-
    - Rahul
    - Mamata Benergee
    - Chandrababu Naidu
    - Deve Gowda
    - host of others who aspire to be (to fill the gap) ?

We want a change from Modi's rule that does not mean that every Dom, Dick & Harry can control the position !

I think she can be a strong contender to Modi. At the end of the day she has won elections and has some admin experience . Unlike the Mr, Bean of India and the Tiger Shroff look alikes who just bank on the 'fake Gandhi' surname.

This called trying to enter from back. If she had ambition she should have contested the election. She was a Rajya Sabha Member when she resigned and not a member of Lower House
The rift between chorbandhan is already started for the post of PM

Before thinking of being a candidate for such high posts she should check her background and status. Just like that anyone from any family background cannot aspire to be Prime Minister.

Raj Thakeray also will have such ambition. But at least he knows where he stands.

Many had ambition of becoming PM of India just for the sake of power and loot India as much as possible, Mayavathi is no exception to this. Any one with right frame of mind will not support her. We need PM who can take India to great heights than great low.
