Bengaluru: Parts of state likely to receive rainfall in next three days

Bengaluru, May 7: The meteorological department has predicted rain with strong wind and lightning for two to three days in coastal belt and southern interior Karnataka.

The department said that there is bright possibility of southern interior places of the state getting normal to good rain. Some places in coastal area are likely to get some rain on Wednesday. The velocity of wind in southern interior areas of the state may also be high and wind speed may touch 40 to 50 km per hour there. At the same time, coastal areas may experience wind speed of 30 to 40 km per hour.

At the same time, places in northern interior Karnataka are expected to remain dry. During the 24-hour period ended 8.30 am on Monday, a couple of places in south interior Karnataka got rainfall. Chikkamagaluru clocked two cm of rain while Chamarajagar got one cm of rainfall.

There was no noticeable change in the maximum temperature in the coast whereas the maximum temperature in a few places in north and interior Karnataka went up a little bit. A couple of places in north inland recorded steep increase in maximum temperature, with Kalaburagi registering 41.7 degree Celsius, which happened to be highest for the state.
