Mangalore: 'Negative Thoughts Dent Mental Prowess of People'

Mangalore, Apr 6: "Positive thinking and attitude are the necessary attributes needed to be imbibed by every one who functions in industries or any other sector," said renowned scholar and founder of Prasanna Trust, Swami Sukhabodhananda. He was addressing the students and entrepreneurs who had participated in the national level workshop on 'Entrepreneurship - a ray of hope' organized recently at the local SDM Business Management College.

"Negative thoughts dent the mental prowess of people. When negative thoughts submit themselves to positive thoughts, success comes calling. Psychological disorders weaken people. We have before us, examples of numerous people who in spite of physical disabilities, succeeded in their lives. Stephen Hawking was a physically handicapped man, but was one of the best ever scientists the world has seen," he said.

"There is no guarantee that success in business brings contentment in life too. Becoming successful in business or job gives us external satisfaction. Mental contentment comes from internal success. Great entrepreneurs are able to succeed in both," he said.

"A successful person should have the ability to analyze situations with an open mind under any circumstances. Walt Disney, a failed cartoonist, created Mickey Mouse and became a household name, after he saw a mouse moving about merrily. Only the achievers can find something new in every person and thing they routinely see, Swami pointed out. Driving home his point further, he told the participants that Bill Gates is not an computer engineer and that Birla had studied up to fourth standard.

Principal Dr Devaraj delivered introductory address on the occasion.
