Clean chit to CJI: Protests erupt outside SC, Section 144 imposed

Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi (SR)

New Delhi, May 7: The authorities on Tuesday removed protesters outside Supreme Court premises for raising an objection to the clean chit given to Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi in the sexual harassment case.

The police forcibly removed many women protestors outside the premise under Section-144.

As per The Quint report, Delhi police PRO Madhur Verma confirmed that the women were held in custody under Section 144 CrPC. He also claimed that the Delhi police had initially asked the women to move the protest to Jantar Mantar as it is the chosen site for protests.

A committee was formed after the woman on April 19 levelled allegations of sexual harassment against Chief Justice Gogoi, reportedly in a letter addressed to 22 judges of the Supreme Court.

On April 30, the former employee of the Supreme Court, who had accused the CJI of sexually harassing her had said that she would no longer appear before the in-house panel set up by the apex court to probe her charges as she felt that she was 'not likely to get justice'.

On Monday, immediately after the committee came out with a clean-chit to CJI, the woman issued a press statement saying that she was 'highly disappointed and dejected'.

A big conspiracy against the CJI was hatched to stop and keep him away from giving crucial judgements on some very important cases. This sexual harassment case was lodged against CJI only when he criticized openly that "democracy is in danger" pointing out fingers directly at the Government. But truth always will have a upper hand over lies. Whatever people who have power try to destabilize the judiciary, till a honest person like Mr. Ranjan Gogoi is there as CJI, the dirty games of these people will not succeed. All the best CJI.

The accuser, a 35-year-old woman, feels 'highly disappointed and dejected'.

Did she think that accusing somebody would be enough to crucify that person?

Unfortunately not. The accuser should have willingly participated in the fact-finding matter.

In fact the blatant accusing by women have destroyed countless men in India.

This can only stop when such women (AND their lawyers) are sent to prison for false accusations.

BTW, where is the BJP-appointed Chairperson of the National Women's Commission? Why is she totally silent on this matter?
