Mangalore: Congress Accuses Palemar of Violating Election Code of Conduct

Mangalore, Apr 9: The Dakshina Kannada District Congress on Monday April 8 alleged that district-in-charge minister J Krishna Palemar breached the election code of conduct by distributing sarees to the residents of Rajiv Nagar Ashraya colony in Shakthi Nagar.  

The Congress delegation led by vice-president Ivan D’Souza filed a complaint with deputy commissioner (DC) V Ponnuraj in this regard. Urging him to take action against Palemar they alleged that he had distributed sarees to win votes. 

The delegation alleged that Palemar had claimed he would ask for votes in the name of Hindutva at a press conference held in Puttur.  

Kodijal Ibrahim, district secretary, T K Sudhir, Ashraf, Muhammadh, and Santhosh were part of the delegation.
