RBCC national finals being held in Jaipur


New Delhi, May 14 (IANS): The national finals of the Red Bull Campus Cricket (RBCC) 2019 are currently being held in Jaipur from May 13 to 17.

Eight regional winners are competing in the national finals in a knockout format of quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The teams that are participating in the knockouts are LJ College, Ahmedabad, MMCC Pune, DAV College Chandigarh, Alfalah University Delhi, Raghu Engineering College Vizag, Hindustan College Chennai, SOA Bhubaneswar and YBN College Ranchi.

The semifinal and the final match will be played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, the home ground of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals.

The winner of the national finals will be crowned Indian champions and will represent the country at the Red Bull Campus Cricket 2019 World Final.

The few selected players from the tournament will get an opportunity to be a part of the trials conducted by the IPL franchise along with the possibility of getting picked in the next IPL auctions.

Rajasthan Royals head coach Paddy Upton, batting coach Amol Muzumdar, bowling coach Sairaj Bahutale and young batsman Riyan Parag will be present for the final match on May 17.
