Wanted gangster arrested in Gurugram

Gurugram, May 14 (IANS): A dreaded gangster, allegedly involved in over 18 criminal cases, along with two of his accomplices was arrested here, police said on Tuesday.

Kushalpal fell into the Gurugram Crime Branch net when he came to his Khatola village to celebrate his son's birthday on Monday night.

The police was looking for him for making an attempt to murder Ved Prakash, a criminal in Maneser, outside Rockland Hospital, on April 4, 2019. When the police arrested four sharp-shooters, they learnt that Kushalpal was the brain behind the attack on Ved Prakash.

"Kushalpal has an old enmity with Ved Prakash as the latter had killed his nephew Manoj in 2007. The court sentenced him to life imprisonment in 2011 and he is currently on bail," Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Shamsher Singh said.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Crime Branch laid a trap to arrest him. On Monday night, when Kushalpal, along with two close aides Brahmajeet alias Rinku and Virender alias Veeru, came to Khatola village to celebrate his son's birthday, they were arrested.

ACP Singh said the police would seek their remand when they would be presented in a Gurugram court on Wednesday.
